About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Manager, Avionics Project Management (Level K) to join our Commercial Modifications & Maintenance (CM&M) team in Long Beach, CA. This position is for a First-Line Manager responsible for leading new business and proposal efforts for the Avionics Program, with accountability for on-time performance and profit/loss results. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly convey ideas, engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and foster collaborative working relationships across the enterprise. This position will also work closely with airline customers, sales teams, and other customer-facing stakeholders to support business objectives and customer needs. Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10 + years’ relevant work experience
  • Experience in contracts and proposals
  • Prior experience with project management
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification preferred
  • Prior experience within commercial aviation, specifically avionics systems
  • Prior people management experience
  • MBA or equivalents leadership degree

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management specialists supporting Avionics programs
  • Supervise employees performing business management activities within the Project Management function
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and establish operational goals
  • Secure resources for projects and processes, provide technical oversight of suppliers, and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
  • Establish Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) goals and develop a PMBP improvement plan
