Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent years of experience required
  • Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested
  • 4-5 years of retail or logistics experience required
  • Knowledge of regulations impacting daily operations (DOT hours of service)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to think “outside the box”
  • Must be able to adapt to policy and operational changes
  • Willing to get involved and be assertive
  • Take initiative and understand the distribution process
  • Adept at assessing organizational dynamics and managing change
  • Works quickly and efficiently. Able to test solutions, learn, and iterate quickly
  • Proactive and pragmatic problem solver
  • Communicates effectively across multiple mediums

  • Transportation, Logistics, and/or Tech industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage equipment utilization.
  • Manage all aspects related to drivers.
  • Manage office staff personnel and is involved in recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
  • Provide on-time service.
  • Assist Transportation Manager with the following: Customer shipping needs. Accounting for all shipments via a weekly service report. Developing a sense of trust and integrity with the customer. Assuring all fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers. Documenting and communicating all service-related issues. Analyzing volume figures to forecast surges in business. Reviewing all credit, collection, and aging reports to increase cash flow. Coordinating lot checks and review for stale trailers.
  • Perform job performance evaluations and takes necessary actions to assure employees are working at capacity.
  • Ensure customer service and on-time delivery are achieved.
  • Participate in rotational off-site on-call duty (possible nights/weekends).
  • Perform any other duties assigned based on customer or business needs.
  • Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce.
  • Attend all in-person meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives. Participate in such discussions by offering input and advice.
  • Regularly engage remotely and in-person with customers and potential customers to establish rapport, open communication, and expectations.
  • Build credibility and trust among managed employees by providing prompt and constructive feedback in office when observing such need.
  • Lead and facilitate regularly scheduled meetings and in-person trainings that harmonize collaboration internal to the department and external to other SBUs.
  • Determine best practices and reinforce constructive and positive feedback through face-to-face interactions with employees on the floor in real time.
