About The Position

The Manager, ASPCA Veterinary Scholars Network plays a critical role in the ASPCA’s national veterinary scholarship program, which supports the development of a robust and mission-aligned veterinary workforce in animal welfare. This program aims to establish a sustained pipeline of future leaders who are deeply committed to the well-being of animals. Through a competitive, objective, and thoughtful selection process, the ASPCA will award scholarships to veterinary and veterinary technician students who demonstrate a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to applying their skills within the animal welfare sector. Scholarship recipients, along with other ASPCA training program alumni, will form the Scholars Network, which provides ongoing professional development and mentorship to support their growth as future leaders in the field. The Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the Veterinary Scholarship program, working closely with the Director, Scholarship Management to ensure successful implementation and alignment with the ASPCA’s strategic goals. The Manager develops and implements the Scholars Network, building and sustaining a connected community of scholarship recipients and ASPCA training program alumni while tracking engagement. This remote-based position requires the ability to travel up to 15% annually as needed, and is open to all eligible candidates based within the United States. A Monday – Friday schedule with occasional evening or weekend work is expected to facilitate, host, and organize network social, professional, and continuing education events. Willingness to work primarily within U.S. Eastern or Central Time Zone hours preferred.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent professional experience required
  • 2 years' experience providing virtual customer service by email, video and phone required
  • Experience collecting and managing data sets required
  • Experience planning and implementing virtual and in-person events, required
  • Experience with public speaking and preparing and giving presentations required.

  • Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • experience running virtual sessions (i.e. webinars), including troubleshooting technical issues, utilizing breakout rooms, moderating chat, etc., highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Director, launch and manage a robust Scholars Network that fosters ongoing connection, relationships, and training opportunities for scholarship recipients and ASPCA training program alumni.
  • Maintain regular communication, drive engagement, and develop opportunities for scholars and alumni to connect with the ASPCA and explore careers in animal welfare.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Communications, Campus Relations, Candidate & Community Relations, and Veterinary Training Initiative teams to align Scholars Network initiatives with organizational priorities and ensure seamless coordination with related work.
  • Facilitate mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities by connecting scholars and alumni with ASPCA staff and supporting engagement in internal and external programs including panels, training, conferences and other related events.
  • Establish a standard format for network events and work with Creative Strategy & Branding to create a network events toolkit.
  • Coordinate and manage virtual, live and in person event logistics, which may entail managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work with internal and external Learning and Development professionals to develop and deliver high-quality training opportunities.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience and maintain consistent communication with scholars through regular check-ins and program updates via email, phone, social media or other channels.
  • Motivate scholars to actively participate in a range of offerings, including but not limited to panel and conference discussions and presentations, hands-on training at ASPCA locations, and deployment to ASPCA field cases.
  • Support the Director in day-to-day scholarship administration including work with the external scholarship management firm.
  • Manage day to day administrative tasks and provide project management support, including but not limited to taking and organizing meeting notes and next steps, coordinating travel reimbursements and stipends, and supporting the administrative aspects of other ASPCA training programs, as needed.
  • Develop and administer surveys to inform program design and capture long-term outcomes, including scholars’ career pathways and fulfillment of scholarship commitments.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to track engagement and program effectiveness, and report on trends to inform strategy.
  • Collect and summarize participant feedback to assess engagement strategies and identify opportunities for program improvement.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of scholars and alumni, ensuring long-term tracking and data integrity to support ongoing outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts to support program development and strengthen scholar and alumni engagement.
