About The Position

The Manager, Agency Sales is responsible for leading the indirect passenger sales strategy, driving revenue and market share shift with a strong focus on selling premium revenue across WestJet’s indirect partner network. The Manager, Agency Sales will lead a national team of experienced sales professionals across a diverse portfolio, responsible for achieving and exceeding core commercial objectives.

Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary education
  • 10+ years’ account management experience with a strong Business to Business Sales and negotiation background
  • 5+ years in a sales leadership role or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership experience with a proven track record for developing talent.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ability to account manage by development of a strategic account business plan
  • Highly organized in prioritizing work and multi-tasking and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to balance the needs of the Guest and WestJet while being results-focused
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations to Travel Executive audiences
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas clearly and effectively and creatively problem solve
  • Ability to travel away from home overnight as required for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of our indirect channel revenue goals and KPI’s and the development and implementation of various sales strategies to improve performance across all verticals within the assigned portfolio.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship, responsible for supporting and developing talent and building a healthy succession funnel in support of business continuity.
  • Build meaningful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders as required in support of the commercial sales strategy.
  • Ensure in year programs, activities and decisions support long term growth goals and are aligned to WestJet’s overarching commercial strategy.
  • Monitor performance against targets on an ongoing basis and take steps in advance to address potential issues or shortfalls. Ensure all sales team members have proper account segmentation strategies for effectiveness and make improvements where necessary.
