About The Position

This role involves partnering with business leaders to understand goals and challenges, translating them into analytics-driven strategies. The Manager will develop and execute research plans, provide strategic guidance based on insights, and support the implementation of analytics-driven solutions. A key aspect of the role is building, leading, and developing an analytics team, fostering engagement and continuous growth. The manager will own analytics workstreams end-to-end, develop data models and algorithms, lead proof-of-concept development, and apply advanced analytics to complex business problems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners is essential, as is coordinating work activities, promoting adaptability, and ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards. The role also focuses on creating a culture of belonging and accountability.

Requirements

  • Strong experience partnering with business and functional leaders to translate goals and challenges into actionable analytics strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead analytics teams, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Hands‑on experience owning analytics projects end‑to‑end, from problem definition through implementation and value realization.
  • Expertise in data modeling, algorithms, and advanced analytics techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage prototypes and production solutions, including testing, validation, and deployment.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, with experience influencing stakeholders across diverse functions.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, capable of turning data insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 2 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 4 years' experience in data analytics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with functional and business leaders to understand goals, functional objectives, and key business challenges, translating those needs into analytics‑driven hypotheses and research objectives.
  • Develop and execute tactical research and analytics plans to address both current and future business questions.
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to leaders based on insights, research objectives, and data findings to inform functional and business initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of analytics‑driven business solutions by building strong relationships with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Build, lead, and develop an analytics team aligned to business area or category objectives, fostering engagement, performance, and continuous growth.
  • Coach and mentor team members, providing performance feedback, supporting career development discussions, and maintaining a motivated and inclusive team environment.
  • Own analytics workstreams and projects end‑to‑end for a business area, category, or prototype, managing scope, execution, and implementation risks.
  • Develop data models, algorithms, and analytical approaches that drive measurable business value, partnering with project teams to deploy solutions.
  • Lead proof‑of‑concept and prototype development, managing the implementation, testing, and validation of production‑ready analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Analytics experts to explore and apply new data analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Apply advanced analytics to complex business problems, driving data‑informed decision making and strategic recommendations.
  • Set and execute data analysis strategies while guiding and upskilling less experienced team members.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with teams such as Categories, Customer Experience, and Merchandising to deliver consultative analytics solutions aligned to business priorities.
  • Engage with external partners and vendors as needed to support analytics initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee work activities by setting clear goals, building accountability, measuring progress, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Promote adaptability and continuous learning across the team and broader stakeholder groups.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, values, and ethical standards, supporting Walmart’s mission, Open Door Policy, and integrity expectations in all business practices.
