The Manager, Adaptive Sports and Fitness will organize and direct operations. The Manager has scheduling, assigning, and supervision responsibility for all of these programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • Two to three years of experience managing sports, fitness and/or recreation programs, including supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Prior knowledge and experience in the area of sports and fitness involving individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills necessary to interact on a daily basis with internal and external customers and ability to direct staff.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data in order to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to write reports, general business, and research correspondence.
  • Analytical ability needed to prepare and monitor budgets.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • ACLS desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in the design and development of Adaptive Sports and Fitness.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Adaptive Sports and Fitness, funders/donors and other community resources.
  • Establish and analyzes priorities, assigning and distributing workload through scheduling for the Adaptive Sports and Fitness Programs.
  • Monitor performance to ensure proper coverage of programs and the efficient completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Interview, hire, train, supervise schedules, and assign work to and evaluate the performance of the SRAlab Adaptive Sports and Fitness staff, interns and volunteers.
  • Perform basic to complex bookkeeping functions, including the development of the annual budget, monitor assigned expense and income accounts. Reports and resolves variances.
  • Oversee basic preventative maintenance on Adaptive Sports and Fitness equipment.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
