About The Position

Business Insurance Actuarial Product – Specialty is seeking an analytical and highly motivated Manager to support our Product and Platform Modernization (PPM) actuarial deliverables across Specialty lines, including Inland Marine, Ocean Marine, and Boiler & Machinery. This role plays a central part in our ongoing modernization journey, building on the recent launch of Travelers Contractors Equipment (CE) on Guidewire, Travelers' first BI specialty line on the new platform. Key responsibilities include rate plan development and build for current and future PPM products, post-monitoring design and execution, compliance documentation and rating table validation, and contributions to restatement and benchmark capabilities. The role partners closely with Product Management, Product Development, Rating Technology (BIRT/Ratabase), Underwriting, the Pricing Circle, and our Strategy, Planning & Execution (SP&E) delivery teams on rate plan implementation. Strong technical and analytical skills, sound judgment, clear and concise communication, and a willingness to leverage new tools, including AI, to deliver smarter, faster results are key attributes of a successful candidate.

Requirements

  • College degree in STEM related field.
  • Associate Actuarial Credential.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (eg. SQL, SAS).
  • 4+ years of quantitative analysis experience.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
  • Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a lead role in the successful execution and completion of assigned strategic initiatives and projects.
