About The Position

The Activities Manager is responsible for the ongoing developing and implementation of an activities and volunteers program designed to assist in maintaining the physical, psychological, and spiritual functions of residents. Organizes, directs and provides activity programs and services that meet the recreational needs Care Center and Swing Bed residents/patents in accordance with the state and federal requirements. Oversees the day to day activities of staff and volunteers of the department. Implementing individualized activity plan, promote group activities, which maintain or enrich the resident's. Assists in maintaining a safe home like environment for the residents. Improving quality of life by providing appropriate and meaningful activities and interventions on a one on one and group basis. These interventions will enable residents to function at their optimal level while maintain the Residents dignity and identity.

Requirements

  • A degree in occupational therapy, recreational therapy, and/or completion of a state approved Activity Coordinator training program.
  • Professional manner and appearance are required, along with good communication, social, and organizational skills.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) within four months of hire.
  • Depending on location, this role classifies as a Sanford Category I or II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license.
  • Must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Certification in Activities desired.
