About The Position

The Manager, Accounts Receivable Services is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the daily activities of their AR team including AR management, staff training and maintaining the client relationship. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare-related issues and regulations, as well as the ability to manage a team effectively in a remote environment. The position involves ensuring compliance with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures, and protecting patient health information (PHI).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a physician business office setting or similar setting.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, goal-oriented, and flexible.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes.
  • Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times and ensure all direct reports are trained and in compliance of said policies and procedures at all times.
  • Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and enforce such for all direct reports.
  • Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties for your respective team.
  • Report any security or HIPAA violations or concerns for your team to the HIPAA Officers in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor client inventory and ensure accounts are worked timely and accurately to meet collection goals.
  • Monitor and coordinate follow-up activities to ensure equitable work assignments.
  • Ensure team meets established quality and productivity standards and address those not meeting standards.
  • Ensure supervisors perform timely and accurate productivity and quality monitoring according to department policies.
  • Ensure client-specific policies and procedures are documented and followed by the team.
  • Monitor client AR and proactively address areas below acceptable standards.
  • Provide assistance/resolution to external and internal client inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain reports or logs as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly client reporting.
  • Regularly monitor Smartfeed assignments in the MPower Workflow system and ensure accounts are appropriately assigned.
  • Bring any identified issues to the attention of the Director or Vice President, as well as Customer Support.
  • Review contract pricing where applicable and bring any identified issues to the attention of the director and the contract management team.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of all healthcare-related issues and regulations.
  • Identify issues and work with the Vice President to get them resolved.
  • Provide training, monitoring, and feedback, as well as disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality at all times.
  • Monitor team attendance and PTO usage.
  • Responsible for ensuring remote client access is disabled for terminated or transferred employees in a timely fashion.
  • Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures, and ensure direct reports are trained and compliant.
