About The Position

The Manager, Accounting will support the accounting team through timely accounting, reporting, and analysis for both the corporate function and Vantage’s operating assets. With key responsibilities for important assets, the Manager, Accounting is responsible for supporting the finance team by effectively managing day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities, as well as providing corporate and network stakeholders with timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting and analysis.

  • Post-secondary Degree or diploma in Accounting, Business or other related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience in industry, with a focus on internal accounting and analysis
  • Strong understanding of month-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries, variance reporting.
  • Financial reporting experience with US GAAP
  • CPA designation, or in the final stages of receiving

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and/or review monthly operating financial statements, journal entries, and supporting working papers and reconciliations, including coordination with operational stakeholders to validate reporting accuracy
  • Review information provided to Financial Reporting and FP&A teams for monthly financial and management reporting to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Ability to manage and oversee supervision of reporting team, including coaching, performance management and other people practices.
  • Provide training, guidance, and first-line oversight to junior accounting staff, as applicable
  • Liaise with network business leaders to resolve accounting-related issues and ensure alignment across teams
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting for shareholders and lenders for the Corporate Office and assigned assets, as applicable
  • Work directly with external auditors and lead audit processes with minimal supervision
  • Provide financial analysis and contribute insights, ideas, and solutions during weekly group meetings
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process as part of the budget preparation team
  • Proactively identify accounting issues and drive them through to resolution
  • Analyze and explain variances to budget and prior periods, highlighting key drivers and areas of concern
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects and ensure effective execution
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, including automation where appropriate to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $109,000 - $136,000 annually.
