About The Position

Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to join their CFO Accounting Advisory practice, specifically within the Financial Accounting Advisory team. This role focuses on helping CFOs, Controllers, and Finance Directors enhance financial reporting processes to add value to business operations. The CFO Advisory practice aims to achieve significant and sustainable performance through technical analysis and process improvement services for a diverse client base, ranging from emerging growth to publicly traded companies across various industries. The team comprises multi-disciplinary professionals with extensive experience, including former Chief Financial Officers, Controllers, and financial statement auditors, who collaborate to provide practical, hands-on support and solve client problems. The goal is to enable finance organizations to focus on business growth and improvement.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in a large accounting firm in audit or financial advisory services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
  • Knowledge and ability to use appropriate tools, applications, and accounting and finance concepts for analysis.
  • Current GAAP advisory knowledge and application.
  • Exposure to Middle Market financial suite of applications (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, IntAcct), their functionality, workflows, automated controls, and data consolidation/reporting capabilities.
  • High motivation, initiative, and positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities.
  • Advanced modeling and Excel skills.
  • Experience conducting complex quantitative and qualitative financial analysis.
  • Ability to generate data-driven insights.
  • Ability to work autonomously, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience presenting analyses to management.
  • Ability to lead and drive initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively and thrive in a team environment with all levels of client personnel in various industries.
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior level client personnel, including supporting and participating in executive briefings.

Nice To Haves

  • Skills with Power BI and/or Tableau are a plus.
  • Experience with the functionality, workflows, automated controls, and associated facilitation of data consolidation, reporting, and robust analytics of financial suites like QuickBooks, NetSuite, IntAcct, and their relationship to addressing myriad business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in projects focused on GAAP Advisory, Business Analytics and Decision Support, Financial Accounting Advisory Services, Transaction Support, and Program/Project Management.
  • Supervise, develop, and train staff on engagements.
  • Participate actively in project work, demonstrating a hands-on approach.
  • Interact directly with senior managers and partners on client and engagement management.
  • Strengthen existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities through outstanding client service.
  • Communicate with business owners, executive management, investors, lenders, and other sophisticated parties to ensure exceptional client service delivery.
  • Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including campus recruiting and referring experienced individuals.
