About The Position

The Government & Public Sector-Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS-FAAS) team is growing exponentially, and as a staff, you'll play a key role in that growth. Working across all Federal GPS sector service lines and interacting with our clients, you'll develop your career by communicating and providing expertise around data integrity that can provide improved insight within the accounting, finance, governance, and regulatory space. It's all about understanding the business processes and data flow to provide a truly exceptional experience for our clients.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business discipline, supported by 4 years of progressive post baccalaureate work experience with Federal US GAAP.
  • Pursing a CPA certification.
  • Experience with any of the following: preparation or auditing of Federal financial statements, operations research, advanced data analytics knowledge, exploratory data mining and data visualization.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • A deep understanding of the objectives of Federal financial management, as well as commonly used terminology, processes and tools.
  • A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues.
  • The confidence to assess risk and provide well thought out solutions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher.
  • Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.

Nice To Haves

  • US CPA licensure in your work state.
  • CGFM and/or CDFM.

Responsibilities

  • Be recognized as a primary day-to-day contact for clients.
  • Understand how client data integrity and quality allow for more reliable reporting.
  • Develop knowledge by learning about current issues, profession, and business developments relevant to the client's industry.
  • Build relationships and expertise with team members.
  • Consult with clients on data integrity and improving data quality.
  • Engage clients and provide authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactions.
  • Constantly develop understanding of current market trends and processes and share knowledge to develop junior colleagues.
  • Understand clients' unique ambitions and needs and refer them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden business relationships where possible.
