About The Position

Oversee day to day operations of the welding school. Oversee candidate testing, new hire weld certification and incumbent training including designing and implementing training activities and programs. Responsible for safety of students, inventory control, quality of instruction, student progress reporting, weld certification input into SIA, selection and training of instructors and procedural compliance with both the company and NAVSEAMust Have

Requirements

Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience. A combination of completed education and experience may be used in lieu of degree.
Must have 3+ years Craft Experience or Graduate of Registered Apprenticeship Program.
Must currently be a Journeyman Welder.

Nice To Haves

Proven ability to train new hires to obtain certification in welding within established timelines.
Familiar with work policies and procedures for purposes of maintaining compliance requirements.
Candidate has ability to work under limited supervision, with no instructions needed on routine work.
Previous experience in a craft technical facilitator, instructor or OJT role.
Previous leadership experience.
Familiar with weld testing and training procedures.
Familiar with company reporting systems (i.e. timekeeping, command media, Outlook, SIA, etc.).
