About The Position

The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives. Under the direction of Agency Secretary Shevaun L. Harris, the Agency is focused on advancing Governor DeSantis’ vision for Florida’s health care system to be the most cost-effective, transparent, and high-quality health care system in the nation. This position is exempt under confidentiality in accordance with Florida Statues (F.S.) 110.205 (2)(w). In carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent is expected at all times to abide by the agency’s standards of conduct, as well as any and all agency policies and procedures applicable to performing the duties of this position. This is a highly responsible professional position reporting to the Audit Director to provide advanced administrative and technical assistance in coordinating a variety of functions within the Internal Audit Unit.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.
  • Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently, as a member of a team, and in an in-charge capacity.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to design publications, presentations, and other written materials using Agency-approved software and templates.

Responsibilities

  • At the direction of the Audit Director assists other Internal Audit staff with internal audit projects and activities.
  • Assists the Audit Director with the completion of Internal Audit documentation to include the annual risk assessment and annual report.
  • Assists the Audit Director in ensuring Internal Audit's compliance with professional auditing standards and internal operational policies and procedures.
  • Reviews engagement report(s) for grammatical errors, conciseness, and formatting.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the Audit Director conducts audit follow-ups as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Audits and consulting engagements (when applicable) are performed in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Infernal Auditing and the Principles and Standards for Office of Inspector General.
  • This position is required to maintain and improve skills by completing a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education within a one-year period.
  • Continuing education training should emphasize subjects directly related to the government environment and government auditing.
