About The Position

Under administrative direction, the Management Research Analyst Senior will perform institutional research activities involving the development, analysis, coordination, visualization, and reporting of university data in support of management evaluation, policy analysis, planning, and decision-making. This position will develop, maintain, analyze, coordinate, and visualize data and reporting processes to support the information needs of internal and external constituents. The Management Research Analyst Senior will prepare reports, dashboards, and data visualizations; conduct data analyses to identify trends and outcomes; and provide technical assistance and consultation to colleges, departments, faculty, administration, and external stakeholders regarding institutional data and reporting. The data used for reporting may include student, course, financial aid, human resources, and other institutional data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Engages in problem/issue identification, analysis, and research.

  • Ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

Responsibilities

  • Selects, develops, and/or recommends appropriate data storage, transformation, reporting, and visualization strategies.
  • Determine appropriate methodology to be used for particular project(s).
  • Manages data collection and compilation.
  • Performs research, analyzes trends and makes recommendations to support university management reporting needs.
  • Develops measures and accountability reports.
  • Prepares and presents data findings to various audiences on results.
  • Utilizes various computer programs and software to extract, transform, analyze, and visualize data.
  • Coordinates and determines compatibility of data from various sources (e.g. interviews, portfolios, surveys, document review).
  • Utilizes technology for efficient, innovative delivery of data products and services.
  • Communicates with internal and external constituencies to obtain necessary information.
  • Serves as a liaison on projects.
  • Serves on committees, and attends meetings with departments, external reviewers, accrediting agencies.
  • Shares knowledge related to higher education data and trends.
  • Performs data querying, transformation, reporting, and visualization routinely.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Engages in problem/issue identification, analysis, and research.
