About The Position

This course provides a brief overview of the traditional model for strategy making. It then delves into new business models and their strategy implications in the new economy, focusing on an economy based on information technology and companies leveraging the Internet. Modern strategy themes explored include emergent strategy, system thinking, business webs, and disruptive technologies. Students will gain practical experience by exploring the value propositions of thirty new economy companies.

Requirements

  • MBA or Master's degree (PhD preferred) in an area directly related to management in the new economy
  • Demonstrate recent professional experience in the area of the course
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training
  • Be an active employee of the University of Ottawa and apply using your worker profile in Workday if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • PhD preferred in an area directly related to management in the new economy
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities
