About The Position

The Management Development Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and enrolling client and internal training programs throughout the region for onboarding new hires and professional development and certification maintenance of all employees. As the specialist in management training, they will lead learners to take an active role in their learning by providing ample opportunities to interact with the content. The Management Development Specialist delivers content to managers using various teaching techniques, such as gamification, which ensures learners can test their knowledge as they go, gain instant feedback, and test knowledge retention.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary diploma or degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with audit learning & teaching programs
  • Intimate understanding of the aviation security screening industry.
  • Team Building and Communication: must be able to support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains vital employees and holds individuals accountable to company or regulatory standards. Facilitate coordination and communication between departments and functions.
  • Work Standards – Sets and maintains high performance standards. Pays close attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness. Shows concerns for all aspects of the job and follows up on work outputs.
  • Problem Solving – Analyses problem by gathering and organizing all relevant information. Identifies cause and effect relationships. Comes up with appropriate solutions.
  • Initiative – Takes action to influence events. Generates ideas for development, takes advantage of opportunities, suggests innovations. Does more than is required.
  • Presentations: Is effective in a variety of formal and informal presentation settings, including one-on-one, small, and large groups, with peers. Manage group processes during any presentation and reflects agility to meet the audience requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely with little to no supervision.
  • Works with little to no direct supervision on routine tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Plan initial hire and recurrent training for front line management, oversee and deliver aviation-specific training programs (in-house)
  • Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes)
  • Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions.
  • Conduct an organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that must be addressed.
  • Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.
  • Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Key Behavioral Indicators (KBIs).
  • Gather feedback from trainees or participants after each educational session.
  • Partner with external stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
  • Research and recommend new training methods, like gamification.
