About The Position

EMCO Corporation is seeking new or recent graduates to join their full-time Management Development Program. This program is designed to train individuals in all aspects of the company's operations, from logistics and customer service to sales, procurement, and leadership. The program spans approximately 3.5 to 4 years, divided into four phases, with the goal of preparing trainees for management positions at EMCO's Canadian Profit Center locations. EMCO is a leading construction wholesale distributor with over 115 years of experience, focused on building stronger communities by supporting critical infrastructure projects across Canada. Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma – all disciplines of study will be considered
  • Positive attitude and results-oriented mindset
  • Desire to continuously learn and grow
  • Excellent leadership, customer service and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong interest in sales
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Learn every aspect of how the business operates, from shipping and receiving, counter sales, operations management to employee development.
  • Grow a sales territory and provide world-class customer service.
  • Receive guidance, mentoring, and support from current managers and teammates.
  • Gain hands-on experience with the logistical side of the business.
  • Involve in customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory and pricing controls, credit management, and financial statements.
  • Manage large-scale projects and problem-solve.
  • Build relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Read blueprint drawings to create quotes of materials.
  • Focus on business development, finding new business opportunities, selling products, and negotiating contracts.
  • Create level 5 customer partnerships.
  • Provide a strategic vision.
  • Lead a team.
  • Mentor others.
  • Run the business by focusing on developing leadership competencies, supporting the team through coaching and mentoring, and setting vision and strategy.
