About The Position

Rystad Energy is seeking analytically driven early-career professionals to join its Americas consulting team, expanding in Houston and New York. The consulting engagements cover a wide range of topics and client types, including commercial due diligence for investors, market assessments for emerging firms, corporate strategy for major energy companies, and policy analysis for governments and trade organizations. Examples of projects include asset valuation, market studies for IPOs, benchmarking for oil and gas majors, strategy development for solar manufacturers, renewable fuels adoption strategy, and impact assessments of methane fees. The Americas consulting teams are based in Houston, Texas, and New York, New York, with hiring for early career professionals to start in Fall 2026. The role involves rigorous analysis to drive insights and conclusions, close client engagement, and rapid knowledge deployment. Project teams work collaboratively across upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sectors, as well as energy transition areas like renewables, hydrogen, and carbon capture. Responsibilities include structuring ambiguous problems, performing quantitative analysis, producing reports, and delivering recommendations under client-driven timeframes. The role is primarily office-based but may involve travel to client sites.

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field (engineering, economics, energy policy, etc)
0–3 years of experience in energy, consulting, or a related field
Experience using Microsoft Office for modeling and data visualization (Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong quantitative skills, including experience with data analysis, modeling, or engineering applications
Ability to translate complex analysis into clear written deliverables, presentations, and data visualizations for clients and internal stakeholders
Demonstrated interest in and understanding of energy markets, technologies, and policy
Ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
Strong teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Python, GIS, SQL, or other quantification and visualization software

Responsibilities

Collaborate with team members to plan and execute project workstreams, often using Microsoft Excel and internal Rystad products to manipulate and forecast data
Prepare client-ready presentations, using Microsoft PowerPoint and additional visualization tools
Communicate with internal team members and external stakeholders on relevant findings, methodologies, and next steps
Leverage AI to streamline workflows across data manipulation and analysis
Map geospatial information using GIS programs
Build models and analyze large data sets in python
Develop client-side products and market reports in collaboration with the Analysis department
Support the commercial team with business development related to ongoing or previous client work
Structure and break down ambiguous problems
Perform quantitative analysis
Produce reports
Deliver recommendations
Operate with urgency to deliver results within client-driven timeframes
