The current vacancy is in the Animal Care Facility and will be responsible for performing high-level budget and fiscal management work, professional-level administrative research and analysis, reports, grant administration, and professional analytical duties. The position may be exposed to frequent loud animal noises, odors and pet dander. The Management Analyst II classification is the full-journey level class of the Management Analyst series and has the ability to perform the full range of duties assigned with only occasional instruction or assistance as unique situations arise. This class is distinguished from the Management Analyst I in that it performs journey level work with a high level of independence and may provide technical and functional guidance to subordinate staff. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the level I or by outside candidates having prior experience. It is further distinguished from the next higher class, Senior Management Analyst, in that the latter is the advanced journey level class performing highly complex departmental administrative and analytical work, having significant responsibility above the journey level and performing work requiring significant independent judgment.
