About The Position

The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is seeking a qualified Management Analyst, Associate to provide professional support of programs, projects, or work units requiring a substantive knowledge of applicable policies, practices, and procedures to select and apply the most appropriate approach. This position may also serve as a lead worker, assigning work and monitoring work completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business/public administration or field related to assignment
  • Two years of paraprofessional experience in area related to assignment, such as assisting with program or project administration and management analysis
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
  • General and special funds

  • Governmental accounting concepts
  • Intermediate to advanced level mathematics and statistics as applicable to appraisal measures and assessment ratio studies
  • Thorough knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

  • Analyzing and interpreting manuals and operating procedures
  • Assisting with special projects and programs
  • Communicating with various internal and external departments effectively

Responsibilities

  • Answering and directing citizen and customer inquiries
  • Providing administrative support to the administration team through regular verbal and written communication
  • Assisting the administrative team with daily office operations
  • Gathering, compiling, and analyzing data, and developing recommendations and reports
  • Composing and preparing a variety of documents
  • Assisting with updates to office manuals, policies, and procedures
  • Preparing, entering, and processing requisitions and paying invoices
  • Entering data into spreadsheets, maintaining accurate information, and updating and reviewing documents for electronic upload to the shared drive
  • Serving as a lead worker by delegating tasks and monitoring their completion
