About The Position

The City of Rancho Cucamonga is seeking a Management Aide to join their innovative and collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the community by engaging with residents and businesses on waste and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and a detail-oriented approach to administrative tasks. This position involves data collection, analysis, event coordination, and assisting with various administrative functions including invoicing, budget reporting, contract management, and records retention. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for outreach events.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance.
  • Example combinations include five years of increasingly responsible clerical, technical and routine administrative experience related to the responsibilities of the assigned position, including or supplemented by college-level training in public administration, accounting, data processing or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of methods and techniques of research, statistical analysis and report preparation.
  • Working knowledge of methods and procedures of budget preparation.
  • Working knowledge of the organization and functions of the assigned municipal department.
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Ability to perform specialized, technical and routine administrative tasks.
  • Ability to key data and operate a computer terminal in performance of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to conduct research, perform analysis and prepare reports of findings.
  • Ability to interpret and apply related laws, ordinances and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Depending upon assignment, possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record may be required.
  • Pass a reference and background verification.
  • Provide proof of a valid California driver's license and be insurable.
  • Pass a pre-employment medical exam.
  • Complete a verification form designated by Immigration and Naturalization Service to certify that they are eligible for employment in the United States of America and furnish proof certifying legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Providing information to residents and businesses and communicating complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Managing the construction and demolition diversion program.
  • Performing field investigations, as needed.
  • Using excellent communication skills to build collaborative working relationships with contractors and developers.
  • Assisting with liens for delinquent trash service.
  • Conducting presentations and coordinating field trips to the Environmental Learning Center.
  • Data collection, analysis and coordinating various events.
  • Processing invoices in Workday.
  • Assisting with budget and grant reporting.
  • Assisting with contract management and procurement.
  • Records retention for Environmental Programs division.
  • Organizing and staffing outreach events, occurring occasionally on weeknights and weekends.
