About The Position

The Managed Wage Attachment Service Administrator is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of employee garnishments and wage attachments on behalf of clients. This position manages garnishment orders from initial receipt through setup, ongoing maintenance, correspondence, and termination while ensuring all required documentation, employee notifications, agency responses, and deadlines are completed in accordance with applicable requirements. The Managed Wage Attachment Service Administrator works closely with Payroll Specialists, clients, employees, and government agencies to ensure garnishment requirements are properly interpreted, implemented, documented, and maintained. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a highly regulated, confidentiality environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll, garnishment administration, HR, legal administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience administering garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, creditor garnishments, or other wage attachments.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state wage garnishment requirements
  • Experience in a managed payroll, payroll service bureau, multi-client environment.
  • Experience working on multiple payroll platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate incoming garnishment orders, wage attachments, levies, and related legal documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Determine required actions, deadlines and documentation and meet deadlines accordingly.
  • Partner with Payroll Specialists to ensure garnishments are established and set up in payroll systems accurately.
  • Ensure employee communications are timely, accurate, and consistent with applicable requirements.
  • Respond to employee questions and escalate complex or legal matters as needed.
  • Monitor agency correspondence and court notices communications.
  • Process garnishment amendments, suspensions, releases, and terminations.
  • Respond to letters of demand, agency requests, and other garnishment-related inquiries.
  • Review and update payroll records to reflect garnishment order changes.
  • Maintain complete and organized documentation for all garnishment activities.
  • Track outstanding orders, responses, and agency requests to prevent missed deadlines.
  • Escalate discrepancies, or potential compliance concerns to management.
  • Provide monthly garnishment reporting and visibility to clients.
  • Partner with Payroll Specialists and client teams to resolve garnishment-related issues.
  • Provide proactive communication regarding status, delays, missing information, or items requiring additional attention.
  • Contribute ideas to improve garnishment processes, procedures, and documentation.
