About The Position

Prepares Patients for imaging in both the X-Ray and mammography department. Performs radiographic procedures as prescribed by a physician. Operates DR equipment. Determines proper technique through the selection of voltage, current, and exposure time. Positions patients for the proper view of the affected area. Instructs patients as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure. Acquires patient medical history. Complies with infection control procedures. Prevents unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient. Communicates compassionately and accurately to the patient to explain what they are about to experience. Effective use of system applications to perform patient workflow. Housekeeping items including but not limited to laundry, stocking of supplies, etc. Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be required. These sessions could occasionally be scheduled outside of your regular working hours to accommodate business needs and training opportunities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Must hold a current ARRT certificate and be willing to obtain Mammography certification within 1 year. (Open to on-the-job training for registered RTs).
  • Must continue to obtain the recommended amount of Continuing Education Credits each year for your certifications.
  • Continuing education in accordance with the ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
