The Mammography Technologist position involves performing mammography (and X-ray/fluoro as applicable) using proper positioning, technique selection, and equipment protocols. The role ensures accurate patient identification, reviews orders/requisitions, and documents history in compliance with American College of Radiology standards. The technologist operates and manages imaging systems (RIS/PACS), verifying image quality, proper labeling, and successful transmission. Maintaining strict quality assurance and radiation safety practices, including ALARA principles and regulatory compliance, is crucial. The position also entails delivering safe, professional patient care while managing workflow, documentation, supplies, and coordinating with other modalities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of recognized, approved AMA Council of Education program in radiologic technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.).
  • State certification as Medical Radiological Technologist (M.R.T.).
  • Mammography Certification.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.

  • Two years of experience in general diagnostic radiology.
