About The Position

Located in beautiful Northern California, Adventist Health Clear Lake has been a leading healthcare provider in Lake County since 1968. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and provide primary and specialty care services at clinics throughout the area to best serve our community. Lake County is home to Clear Lake, California's largest natural freshwater lake, surrounded by charming small towns, beautiful mountains, vineyards and orchards. This area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with some of the best bass fishing, rural trails for hiking and biking, all the while being only two hours from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento Valley or Pacific Coast. Job Summary: Performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Performs all required procedures in the department while operating specialized equipment. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology: Required
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) and Mammography Technologist: Required in CA
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Mammography (ARRT-M): Required in OR, Preferred in CA and HI
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
  • Mammographic Radiologic Technology (MRT): Required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Mammography Technologist: Preferred
  • Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA
  • Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA

Responsibilities

  • Completes patient education regarding the exam while promoting privacy and comfort for the patient.
  • Follows infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Performs diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered.
  • Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
  • Produces high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate and completes appropriate documentation.
  • Obtains pertinent patient information and disseminates subsequent patient preparation instructions to patient care areas.
  • Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction or subject matter expertise.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
