Operates mammography equipment to create breast images ordered by physician(s). Positions patients for the proper view(s) according to the exam ordered or requested. Instructs patients as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure. Acquires patient medical history. Performs Quality Assurance when necessary for regulated calibrations and other accredited factors. Prevents unnecessary radiation exposure to themselves and the patient. Communicates compassionately and accurately to the patient to explain what they are about to experience. Works effectively and efficiently with fellow colleagues and radiologists daily. Utilizes system applications to perform patient workflow. Works according to the rules set forth from the ACR and ARRT governing bodies. Performs housekeeping duties such as keeping up on laundry, stocking of supplies, and helping other colleagues with patients. Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be required, occasionally scheduled outside of regular working hours to accommodate business needs and training opportunities. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the corporation.
