About The Position

Centrally located within the heart of California, Adventist Health Tulare has been serving the Central Valley since 2018. We are comprised of a 108-bed acute care hospital, emergency department and provide primary and specialty care services to best serve our community. Tulare is situated in a delightful and geographically diverse region. There are a variety of opportunities for all-season outdoor recreation such as camping, hiking, water and snow skiing, fishing and boating. It is also within an hour's travel time to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. In addition to the beautiful landscape, it also offers a great cost of living and close-knit communities. Job Summary: Performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Performs all required procedures in the department while operating specialized equipment. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology: Required
Radiologic Tech (RT) and Mammography Technologist: Required in CA
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Mammography (ARRT-M): Required in OR
Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
Mammographic Radiologic Technology (MRT): Required

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Mammography Technologist: Preferred
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Mammography (ARRT-M): Preferred in CA and HI
Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA
Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA

Responsibilities

Completes patient education regarding the exam while promoting privacy and comfort for the patient. Follows infection control and safety guidelines.
Performs diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered. Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies. Produces high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate and completes appropriate documentation.
Obtains pertinent patient information and disseminates subsequent patient preparation instructions to patient care areas.
Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction or subject matter expertise.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
