The technologist ensures accurate body positioning, implements radiation safety standards, and processes images. They deliver care and support services to clients before, during, and after mammogram procedures, maintaining records and educating women on the importance of mammography. The position requires a strong understanding of anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology, along with maintaining continuing education credits. Job responsibilities may expand based on facility needs, potentially including on-call rotation, nights, weekends, and holidays, and performing other diagnostic radiology procedures or basic diagnostic radiology tasks.
