  • Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Program.

  • RT(R) - Radiography Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care activities within scope of practice, including POCT, IV insertion, patient assessment, medication administration, and patient transport
  • Ensure safety for patients, families, staff, and visitors through imaging clearance screening and implanted device evaluations
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines including ALARA and Image Gently principles and provide appropriate shielding
  • Recognize patient distress and assist with emergency response team activation when needed
  • Adhere to infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and contrast administration protocols using the six rights of medication administration
  • Apply age-specific care criteria and notify radiologists of critical findings
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support patient care needs through varied schedules, call coverage, and emergency ride-out responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of rooms, equipment, and work areas while managing supplies and waste disposal
  • Comply with HIPAA requirements and ensure accurate patient identification and documentation
  • Complete additional assigned duties as required
  • Utilize critical thinking to address patient and provider needs and escalate issues appropriately
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve workflow efficiency and patient flow
  • Expedite patient care processes and minimize treatment delays
  • Perform downtime procedures during system outages to maintain continuity of care
  • Ensure timely image transfer to PACS and provide accurate hand-offs using SBAR communication methods
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional education activities
  • Mentor staff members and students to support departmental learning and development
  • Recommend workflow and operational efficiency improvements
  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, regulatory, and accreditation standards
  • Attend departmental meetings, maintain required credentials, complete mandatory training, and document incidents appropriately
  • Perform high-quality mammography and imaging examinations following established protocols
  • Ensure correct patient positioning, image annotation, and technical parameters for all studies
  • Maintain productivity standards and minimize technical errors
  • Operate imaging equipment independently and resolve image quality concerns
  • Identify, report, and document equipment malfunctions and maintenance issues
  • Assist with equipment maintenance logs and operational documentation
  • Perform general X-ray procedures as needed
  • Accurately enter patient and exam information into clinical systems
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable billing and coding standards
  • Complete additional technical responsibilities as assigned
