About The Position

Performs a variety of breast imaging procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and competency. Obtains breast images for radiologist interpretation during screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies, and assists radiologists with stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies. The position is based at Oconee Medical Campus in the Mammography department at Oconee Memorial Hospital and works the day shift. It is bonus eligible.

Requirements

Completion of a Radiologic Technology certification program.
ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo registration.
BLS certification.
SCRQSA certification for team members working in South Carolina.
Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtain optimum-quality breast images for radiologist interpretation during screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.
Assist radiologists during stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
Review previous studies and patient history to determine whether patients are screening or diagnostic cases.
Cover other departmental functions as needed.
Provide radiation protection according to State and Federal standards, using proper shielding, collimation, and technical factors to minimize radiation exposure without affecting image quality.
Stay current on changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job-related material.
Stay informed about organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes and updates by checking email each shift.
Perform other duties as assigned.
