About The Position

The Mammography Supervisor is accountable for the daily operations of the Breast Imaging Department. This includes the direct oversight of all technical, business and personnel related aspects of ensuring safe patient care and compliance with all accrediting bodies for mammography.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • 5 or more years Mammographer experience required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA)
  • Mammography (M) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Responsibilities

  • Functions with limited supervision in maintaining organizational accountability for meeting the mission and vision expectations.
  • Performs direct patient care as required to meet patient care needs.
  • Must be able to step in and perform all procedures independently without assistance, while working with various staff including physicians, nurses, resident, etc. to optimize patient care.
  • Plans, directs and supervises the activity of all staff in the Breast Imaging section of Radiology and is responsible for ensuring that all activity is performed in an efficient, organized and safe manner.
  • Responsible for the overall maintenance, evaluation and performance of all equipment in the division.
  • Responsible for the preparation of all reports and documentation to support Mammography including budgets, purchasing, staffing, performance improvements, etc.
  • Works with Radiology Operational Leadership as requested to support various teams, committees, performance improvement activities.
  • Provides instruction to mammography students, medical students and residents regarding mammography exams and equipment when appropriate; coordinates with ancillary personnel as needed.
  • Maintains standards and provides support documentation for successful demonstration of compliance to ACR, MQSA, JCAHO and KDHE code compliance.
  • Responsible for completion of mandatory educational assignments as provided by the Radiology Operational Leadership.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
