About The Position

This role serves as a lead technologist in the Breast Center, providing oversight, coordinating workflows, and acting as a primary point of contact for the imaging team. The position involves a dual role, rotating between performing scans at the center and operating the Mobile Mammography Van. The Lead Technologist performs technical procedures using ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images and is expected to have direct patient care for approximately 50% of their total hours worked. This role maintains competency in all areas of licensure for themselves and supervised staff, provides leadership for technical and support staff, and ensures adequate coverage and coordination of activities. They also provide support and training, maintain equipment and certifications (ACR for Mammography and Ultrasound), and produce data for quality management. The position requires acquisition of high-quality images, excellent customer service, and mature, independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of AMA Accredited School of Radiologic Technology or completion of mammography training.
  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist OR RHM-Radiology Mammography OR BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider OR ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Minimum of 5 years as a staff technologist in area of certifications.
  • At least two years experience as a Sr. technologist in area of certifications.
  • Ability to perform examinations of excellent technical quality in an efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of Mammography Instrumentation operation and quality control procedures is necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of departmental computer systems operations is essential (EPIC programs, including Radiant, PACS).

Responsibilities

  • Produces and maintains data for quality management.
  • Acquires high quality images.
  • Exercises mature and independent judgment.
