The Mammographer will be responsible for performing mammograms and diagnostic radiographs, producing quality images in mammography as defined by the American College of Radiology guidelines, and possessing standard and advanced positioning skills. This role also involves quality assurance and control tasks specific to mammography equipment, including phantom images, visual inspections, compression checks, and monthly checklists. The Mammographer will maintain equipment logs, perform preventative maintenance, and inform the Physicist of any repairs. Additionally, the position requires accurate documentation of patient data in the RIS system, presenting patient case histories and images to Radiologists, and meeting continuing education requirements for mammography and diagnostic radiology. Patient safety is paramount, involving verification of patients with two identifiers, maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
