About The Position

Responsible for performing a broad range of technical and patient care activities in support of screening and diagnostic mammography services. Ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and a compassionate patient experience while adhering to established clinical protocols and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Radiologic Technologist New Hampshire License required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) required
  • Registered Mammography (M)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - required
  • Experience in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agencies' rules and regulations 2-3 years required
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and respond to the unique physical, developmental, and emotional needs of patients across the lifespan, with an understanding of breast health, female and male anatomy, normal aging processes, and age-related limitations.
  • Applies patient-centered communication techniques, adapting explanations and interactions to each patient’s level of understanding and clinical needs.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a respectful, compassionate, and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Provides excellent customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow efficiently in a high-volume clinical setting.
  • Maintains flexibility and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates mammography and related imaging equipment to perform screening and diagnostic procedures.
  • Accurately positions patients and utilizes safe techniques as needed to ensure optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  • Selects appropriate imaging techniques to achieve proper exposure and diagnostic results.
  • Reviews images for quality and diagnostic adequacy; obtains additional images when necessary.
  • Prepares and maintains equipment and medical supplies, following aseptic techniques when applicable.
  • Clearly explains procedures to patients, addressing questions and promoting a supportive and reassuring environment.
