About The Position

Akumin is hiring a full-time Mammo Tech at its Danbury facility. The Mammo Tech learns radiology safety, customer service, documentation, and operations through on-the-job training under the direction of a registered technologist. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered. The role may require travel of 5% and the ability to work at several locations. COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Successful completion of a radiology school.
• Certificate from a college or technical school.
• Certification by ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTCB, or ARDMS.
• Continuing education in the structure component of the radiology exam.
• State-issued Radiologic Technologist license, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver's license, if applicable.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to travel up to 5%, as required.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree.
• Certificate from a college or technical school.
• Completion of a radiology program.
• Demonstrated proficiency in independently running advanced radiology studies.
• Technical proficiency using diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Venipuncture certification, or ability to obtain it within three months if required by the customer or contract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-screening of personnel before they enter the magnet room to ensure their safety.
• Scan and document patients under the direction of a registered technologist, meeting applicable customer and Akumin requirements.
• Complete required patient-file documentation to meet customer, Akumin policy, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Perform other job duties as needed.
