About The Position
Makerspace Lab Technicians are workers in the I- HACK 6th Floor and 3rd floor labs. They help in the Makerspace by learning how the technology on the floor works and maintaining such equipment. They will learn from the Lab Tech 2’s and use teamwork to properly manage any project or challenge that comes across the floor. They will assist the team in the upkeep of the lab and help Gannon community members in the space.
Requirements
- A basic knowledge of subtractive or additive manufacturing, CAD Design, and basic programming skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Technical trade skills, or manufacturing experience.
Responsibilities
- Learning the flow of the Makerspace
- Learning the safe operation of basic equipment and hand tools
- Maintaining the cleanliness and proper presentation of the floor
- Assisting other lab technicians in their daily responsibilities
- Shadowing other trained individuals in open lab hours
- Keeping an eye out for tasks that may need to be done in the space
