About The Position

Hubbard House seeks an experienced Major Gifts Officer to support the agency’s fundraising goals and long-term sustainability. The Major Gifts Officer will manage a portfolio of approximately 75–125 individual donors and prospects, building and advancing relationships through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Major Gifts Officer will work closely with staff leadership and the development team to strengthen donor engagement and increase philanthropic support. This role is responsible for developing and implementing individualized donor strategies, conducting regular and meaningful donor outreach and meetings, and building a pipeline of major gift opportunities to support revenue goals. Hubbard House was founded as the first domestic violence shelter in Florida and is the certified domestic violence center serving Duval and Baker counties in Northeast Florida. Hubbard House has nearly 50 years of experience serving victims of domestic violence through residential and outreach programs. The organization has an annual operating budget of $9 million and a healthy endowment. Hubbard House serves approximately 5,000 women, children, and men each year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, development, or a related field required.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with donor databases required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required.
  • Vehicle insurance must be maintained.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must successfully clear background screening including DCF, FDLE, National Sex Offender Registry, DMV screening, and drug/alcohol/TB screening.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated success managing a portfolio of donors and personally soliciting major gifts.
  • Experience securing gifts of $10,000+.
  • Managing donor relationships through the full lifecycle (qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) is strongly preferred.
  • Major gift, planned giving, and/or campaign experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations, particularly in domestic violence, sexual assault, or social services, is a plus.
  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
