About The Position

IOCP is entering an exciting season of growth and is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Major Gifts Officer to help shape its next chapter. For over 50 years, IOCP has strengthened the community by providing essential services such as food, case management, emergency financial assistance, employment services, and childcare resources. The Development team currently raises $7.5 million annually. This is a pivotal moment to join the team, especially for individuals energized by meaningful donor relationships, confident in making direct asks, and motivated by measurable impact.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated success securing significant gifts from individuals
  • Experience managing a donor portfolio with clear revenue goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence presenting information and making direct solicitations
  • Experience with donor databases and moves management processes
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 100 qualified, active donors and prospects.
  • Lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that result in transformational major and planned gifts.
  • Conduct one-on-one donor meetings (in person and virtual) to deepen engagement and secure major gifts.
  • Develop and execute individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Make confident, direct asks aligned with donor passions and organizational priorities.
  • Lead legacy and planned giving conversations.
  • Facilitate tours and meaningful mission-centered experiences.
  • Write personalized communications, including proposals, thank-you notes, and impact reports.
  • Ensure donors see and feel the tangible impact of their investment.
  • Manage a portfolio of qualified donors using moves management best practices.
  • Identify and qualify new major and planned gift prospects.
  • Analyze engagement data to prioritize strategy.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Collaborate with leadership, volunteers, and program staff to align donor interests with funding opportunities.
  • Participate in campaign planning and execution.
  • Contribute to integrated strategies across major, planned, and campaign giving.
  • Represent IOCP at donor and community events to expand visibility and networks.
