Major Gift Officer - Full Time
About The Position
We are looking for a Major Gift Officer who can help us engage the local community to facilitate our vision of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all. The Major Gift Officer will be responsible for connecting members to the philanthropic goals of Greater Philadelphia YMCA, focusing on nurturing gifts of more than $1,000. This role requires maintaining an active presence in the region to identify and grow major gift prospects, prioritizing donor stewardship, and supporting regional operations teams. The position also involves collaborating with the Marketing Department on communications, ensuring compliance with policies, and producing regular reports. The YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of professional experience with a background in major gift fundraising in the YMCA or another not-for-profit organization
- Knowledgeable in annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, leading teams, and donor relations
- Willingness to travel across Greater Philadelphia branch locations
- Technical proficiency in donor research and CRM platform
Responsibilities
- Helping to connect members to the philanthropic goals of Greater Philadelphia YMCA
- Focus on nurturing gifts of more than $1,000
- Maintaining an active presence in our region of focus with the goal of identifying new, or growing current, major gift prospects
- Prioritizing donor touches and sound stewardship for all current and potential prospects
- Supporting regional operations teams in major gift fundraising and pipeline cultivation, as well as regional board recruiting as needed
- Collaborating with the Marketing Department to design and execute internal and external departmental communications
- Ensuring compliance with internal and legal policies and procedures
- Producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
