About The Position

The Maintenance associate assists with the operation, maintenance, and repair of hotel equipment and facilities. Duties include guest-room preventive maintenance and repairs, maintaining kitchen, laundry, HVAC, pool, and other equipment, and responding to alarms. The role is part-time and scheduled for evenings at La Quinta Phoenix - Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
• Acceptable property-specific motor vehicle driving record (MVR).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade license preferred, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
• Change light bulbs and perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, including vinyl repair, paint touch-ups, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen and laundry equipment, HVAC systems, guest rooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool, and hot tub.
• Perform plumbing and laundry-equipment repairs, maintain exhaust fans and supply systems, monitor energy conservation, and repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment upon request.
• Follow up immediately on alarms to determine their location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to the Front Desk.
• Perform other tasks or jobs as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
