About The Position

ABB is hiring a Maintenance employee for an onsite role in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and equipment. The employee performs preventive maintenance, interprets electrical schematics and technical documentation, researches unfamiliar equipment, and keeps accurate repair records. The role also emphasizes safety, including following lockout/tagout procedures, maintaining an organized work area, collaborating with machine operators, and supporting overtime needs to maintain reliable equipment operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, control systems, and PLC troubleshooting.
• Skill in reading technical documentation, diagnosing machine issues, repairing heavy machinery, and clearly communicating root causes.
• Adaptability, organization, ability to manage multiple priorities, cross-train, learn new technologies, and maintain strong professional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field; alternatively, two years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including servomotors, controls, compressors, and related components.
• Interpret electrical schematics and use electrical tools.
• Research technical information needed to repair new or unfamiliar equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate repair records.
• Keep the maintenance area organized, clean, and compliant with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
• Prioritize workplace safety and collaborate closely with machine operators.
• Support overtime needs to keep equipment running reliably.
