About The Position

The Maintenance position involves performing comprehensive maintenance and repairs on various machinery and equipment, including hydraulic and electrical systems. Key duties include inspecting, testing, dismantling, installing new parts, cleaning, and lubricating machinery components. The role requires the ability to fabricate materials like steel and wood for plant operations and safety, and to use a variety of hand and power tools. Adherence to OSHA and ANSI standards is crucial to ensure equipment is in proper working condition. Additionally, the role encompasses outdoor maintenance tasks such as snow removal, ground and landscape maintenance, housekeeping, and road grading. The successful candidate must accurately log completed work into a database and be prepared to work when equipment fails, which may include being on call 24 hours a day. Proficiency in operating the equipment being maintained is also a requirement, along with performing other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to visually inspect and test machinery and equipment using electrical and and electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction.
  • Ability to discuss machine operation with co-workers.
  • Ability to dismantle machines and equipment and install new or required parts.
  • Ability to repair and maintain hydraulic and electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to repair, maintain, inspect, and operate various equipment including cranes, forklifts, saws, gas and diesel equipment, torch tables, hand and powered tools, motors, racks, and welders.
  • Ability to clean and lubricate machines and equipment parts.
  • Ability to fabricate steel, wood and other materials.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow all OSHA regulations and ensure equipment and machinery are in proper working condition according to OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Ability to perform outdoor maintenance including snow removal, ground and landscape maintenance, housekeeping duties, and road grading.
  • Ability to enter work completed into the data base in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work when equipment or machinery fail, including being on call 24 hours of the day.
  • Knowledge of how to operate equipment that they are expected to work on.

Responsibilities

  • Follow blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings while performing maintenance and repairs of the machinery and equipment.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment by using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and to discuss machine operation with co-workers.
  • Dismantle machines and equipment and install new or required parts and follow the specifications by using blueprints, and/or manuals.
  • Repair and maintain all hydraulic and electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Repair and maintain, inspect, and operate equipment and machinery including, but not limited to: cranes, forklifts, order filling tables, saws, chain saws, gas and diesel equipment, torch tables, hand and powered tools, motors, racks, and welders.
  • Clean and lubricate machines and equipment parts, such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings by using parts washer solvents, rags, brushes, and grease gun.
  • Fabricate steel, wood and other materials to assist in the operation, and safety of the plant.
  • Use hand and power tools to fabricate physical structures, benches and partitions.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and ensure the equipment and machinery are in proper working condition according to OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Perform outdoor maintenance including but not limited to snow removal, ground and landscape maintenance, housekeeping duties, and road grading.
  • Enter work completed into the data base in a timely manner.
  • Be able to work when equipment or machinery fail, potentially being on call 24 hours of the day.
  • Know how to operate equipment that they are expected to work on.
  • Perform other duties as specified by supervisor.
