About The Position

Best Western Plus Settlers Point is hiring a full-time Maintenance employee. The position is scheduled Wednesday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with starting pay of $17.00 per hour, depending on experience. The role involves carrying out repairs and preventive maintenance, installing and maintaining equipment and fixtures, inspecting and troubleshooting systems, checking safety systems, and supporting the upkeep of the property. The position reports to the General Manager or facilities maintenance manager.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity.
• Ability to stand, sit, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push or pull, and lift or carry items frequently throughout the workday.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs, such as fixing broken locks and filling gaps in walls.
• Complete preventive maintenance, including snaking drains, touching up paint, and staining furniture.
• Install and maintain equipment and fixtures.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems, such as ventilation.
• Check the functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms.
• Handle trash, groundskeeping, supply stocking, pool maintenance, and related tasks.
• Collaborate with other professionals during renovations.
