About The Position
This position is responsible for performing general labor duties related to streets, water and sewer systems. The work is typically performed outdoors or in a vehicle. This position requires on call emergency response after hours or on weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid drivers' license is required.
- Skill in basic mathematics.
- Skill in operating a motor vehicle.
- Skill in dealing with the public.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
Responsibilities
- Reads water meters as necessary.
- Replace damaged water meters.
- Operates chain saw.
- Cuts tree limbs and branches, picks up brush and leaves.
- Assists with street maintenance duties.
- Assists with water and sewer system maintenance duties.
- Cleans ditches and driveway pipes.
- Pick up litter, trash and dead animals along city streets.
- Operates backhoe as needed.
- Operates a bushhog to cut grass.
- Related duties as assigned.
