About The Position

The Stanley G. Falk School, one of the largest Special Education Day Schools in New York State, is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to support daily facility operations. In this role, you will perform a variety of building maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping tasks to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for students and staff.

Requirements

Experience or basic knowledge in building maintenance or skilled trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
Valid New York State driver’s license required
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting)
Complete work orders efficiently and on time
Operate tools and equipment safely (power tools, hand tools, maintenance equipment)
Perform snow removal (plowing, shoveling, salting) during winter months
Maintain grounds (mowing, trimming, landscaping, mulching)
Use ladders and scaffolding for building maintenance tasks
Follow all safety procedures and regulations
Maintain and store tools and equipment properly
Work collaboratively with the maintenance team
Interact professionally with staff, vendors, and contractors
