About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a wide range of routine and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and custodial tasks to ensure buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role supports day-to-day facility operations and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment for staff, visitors, and customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
1–3 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, or related field.
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks.
Valid driver’s license (if required by organization).

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues (e.g., lighting, outlets, switches).
Address plumbing needs including leaks, clogged drains, and fixture repairs.
Maintain and repair doors, locks, windows, flooring, furniture, and general building components.
Respond to daily maintenance tickets and urgent repair requests in a timely manner.
Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and spaces for meetings, events, or operational needs.
Assist with inventory management for maintenance supplies and equipment.
Work with outside vendors or contractors as needed for specialized repairs.
Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility, tools, and equipment.
Follow all OSHA, local codes, and organizational safety guidelines.
Identify potential hazards and report or address them promptly.
Support emergency response efforts, including snow/ice removal, storm prep, or facility shutdowns.
