About The Position

Under limited supervision, general maintenance work is performed on all Goodwill facilities. This role involves performing a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, operating manual/electric and power hand tools, and using protective equipment. The Maintenance Worker ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and brings problems to the attention of the Maintenance Manager, Safety Director, or HR Manager.

Requirements

Less than a High School education. A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the work effectively.
Must possess a valid State of Florida driver’s license.
Knowledge of facility maintenance equipment, materials, and supplies.
Under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty related to facilities maintenance and repair, and performs related tasks as assigned.
Performs manual labor; operates a variety of light power and hand tools to repair and maintain Goodwill facilities, machinery, and light equipment.
Occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Work extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Perform heavy manual labor.
Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
Follow written, verbal instructions and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Listens well, is dependable, and takes pride in work.
