About The Position

Friendship Village is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Maintenance Worker to provide general maintenance, transportation services for residents, and security throughout the community. The role involves safely transporting residents to appointments, activities, and other scheduled destinations; providing courteous assistance; carrying out repairs and basic troubleshooting; moving furniture; and maintaining the building and grounds. The employee will also conduct routine security checks, monitor for safety and security concerns, assist in emergencies, and follow established safety and security procedures. Hours may vary, but the typical schedule is 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage. The facilities are open year-round, and employees must be flexible and available for on-call work at any hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed, especially during inclement weather. Work is performed in all types of weather and involves moderate to heavy physical effort.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have transportation and a valid driver's license.
Be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
Have prior maintenance experience.
Be able to communicate effectively.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Be willing and able to perform moderate to heavy work in all types of weather, including frequent standing, stopping, walking, and lifting heavy objects.
Be flexible to work varying hours, including rotating weekends and holidays and on-call hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Safely transport residents to appointments, activities, and other scheduled destinations.
Provide courteous and respectful assistance to residents.
Perform general maintenance, including repairs, basic troubleshooting, furniture moving, and upkeep of the building and grounds.
Conduct routine security checks of the property and monitor for safety and security concerns.
Assist with emergency situations and follow established safety and security procedures.
