About The Position

The Maintenance Worker - Pipeline maintains and repairs water and wastewater system pipelines and provides additional labor support to NTMWD systems when needed. Duties include grounds maintenance, water and sewer line repairs, and other work across multiple systems. The position works under the direct supervision of the Lead Maintenance Worker and the Maintenance Services Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Ability to understand directions and perform assigned tasks with direct supervision.
Ability to work with hand tools and power tools and operate small equipment.
Ability to follow and implement safety training concepts.
Ability to learn and receive performance feedback and instruction positively.
Must maintain a current, valid, vehicle-appropriate driver’s license of the employee’s resident state if driving a District vehicle as part of job duties.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a trade is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs general grounds and facilities maintenance.
Repairs and replaces water and sewer lines as needed.
Provides labor support to all NTMWD systems.
Follows safe work practices, including proper use of safety equipment and procedures for permit-required confined space entry and lockout/tagout.
Takes action to protect certain structures and equipment under emergency conditions.
May respond to various emergency situations as directed by a supervisor.
Performs annual cleaning of water and wastewater basins and flumes.
Participates in a rotational on-call schedule to respond to NTMWD repairs outside normal business hours and works overtime as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
